One big nightmare of a content creator today is – not getting views. TikTok is a great social media platform to go viral. However, there are times when you may not get any views on your content.

In this article, we will dive deep into why TikTok is not showing your videos to your followers.

Why is TikTok not showing My Videos To My Followers?

Are you struggling because TikTok is not showing your videos? Worry not, we have listed down all the possible reasons with solutions for this problem. If you want to understand the reasons in more detail, keep on reading this blog.

TikTok servers are down

Your video might not be seen by your followers because TikTok’s servers might be down. This happens rarely. If the servers are down, the app will not function smoothly, there might be glitches. If you see these signs, then probably TikTok is down. You can confirm it by checking the status of Tiktok’s server by using free apps like down detector

Solution:

If the server is down, wait for some time, usually, the app will not be down for a long time. You can also restart the app by deleting it from your phone and reinstalling it from the google app store.

You can also try clearing your cache. Sometimes, the app won’t work well if a lot of caches are there on your phone. Go to the TikTok app and click on the three dots on the right side of your screen and clear the cache.

The video is ‘under review’

You make a promise to your TikTok followers that your video is going to go live at 8:00 PM. You are all set to upload the video and the app says ‘ your video is under review’. This happens when a content creator has a huge following. TikTok wants to check the video content.

At times, if one single video is violating a minor community guideline or has been reported by a user — TikTok may put all of your content under review.

You won’t receive a special notification about it. If you click on your different TikTok videos, it will say that they are ‘under review’.

Solution:

If you have created content that does not break any community guidelines, then you do not have to do anything. Just be patient, they will review your content, and sometimes it will get uploaded.

If they are taking a long time to review your content, contact customer support and explain your situation to them. Also, always read the community guidelines carefully.

You have a private account

If you have a private Tik Tok account, then other users won’t be able to see your videos. It only shows your videos to people who are there on your follower list. The app will also not display any video on the ‘For You’ page.

Solution:

If you want other users to view your video, make your account public. You can do that by going to Settings on the top right side of your TikTok profile, going to privacy settings, and making it public. Now, all the users on TikTok will be able to see your videos.

Shadow ban

If you have uploaded content that violates the community guidelines multiple times, then TikTok might impose a shadow ban on your account. It would not even notify the user and shadow ban their account.

The reasons for the shadow ban can include posting spam content, hate speech, violence, nudity, drugs, copyright issues, etc.

If you search for the hashtag that you used while posting the video and the video does not appear – it means your TikTok account is hundred percent shadow banned.

Solution:

While posting content on TikTok, ensure that it is adhering to all the community guidelines laid down by TikTok. If your video is even minorly violating the community guidelines, delete such content immediately.

Unstable internet connection

At times because of an unstable internet connection, it can take some time for TikTok to upload your content. You won’t be able to smoothly function the app or anything else if you have a bad internet connection.

Solution:

Make sure that when you upload the video, you have a strong internet connection. Restart your router, check if you have used the cellular data, and take steps to fix your internet issue.

You might have not updated the TikTok app

If your app is not running seamlessly, then you might have not downloaded the app’s latest updates. At times, if the app is not updated, you may find it difficult to upload the video.

Solution:

Go to the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS. Then, check for the updates. Download them and re-upload your video.

Why my TikToks are not getting views?

Usually, the key reason for not getting views is not creating engaging content. If there is no engagement on your video, that means your content game isn’t good. However, there can be several other reasons. Let’s discuss these reasons below:

Inappropriate content

TikTok will not show your content to other Tiktok users if it is not following the community guidelines. If you upload content that contains violence, nudity, drugs, and hate speech – it will result in a ban and shadowban.  The app only promotes quality content on its platform.

Uploading multi-niche content

If you are uploading content in multiple niches then you might struggle with getting TikTok views. The solution here is that one account should focus on one particular niche, and you get rewarded. This is how the TikTok algorithm works.

New account

If you made a new TikTok account then it might take some time to index your videos. TikTok might not have indexed your content. So, you may not be getting any views. It does this because it wants to distinguish real accounts from fake ones.

If you create a new TikTok account, before posting the videos, engage with other content on TikTok.

Do not make a new TikTok account and start posting immediately. Engage with other TikTok content of TikTok. Watch some videos, like, comment, add a profile picture, and write a compelling TikTok bio.

Not using hashtags

You may not get views if you do not use trending hashtags in your caption before uploading the video. Use 4-5 relevant hashtags before uploading the video to get more views as it will help more people to discover and help you get views.

You can combine your niche hashtags with a trending hashtag to increase your viewership. Please don’t go overboard with using hashtags. Too many hashtags can confuse the TikTok Algorithm.

Low engagement and completion rate

When you upload a video, TikTok checks the activity around it, like how many people have liked it, commented on it, etc. It is called engagement. It also checks how many have watched videos from start till the end. It is called completion rate/ watch time.

So, if you have low engagement and low completion rate – TikTok will not show that video to other users, resulting in less viewership.

You can fix this mistake by creating exciting and engaging content for your TikTok audience. The first step is to study and analyze your viewer. Understand what they like watching and different formats. Be creative

Using VPN has now become a common thing. VPN basically means a Virtual Private Network. It is a private network and no one can trace user’s activities on it. TikTok users use VPN to get views on their content from different countries.

However, if a TikTok account didn’t have any VPN before and now the user starts using VPN, then it might lead to low viewership.  You can use VPN, but be smart about it. Create a new TikTok account on a different device with VPN.

TikTok video disappeared after uploading

It is odd when you upload a video and it just disappears. It can be frustrating. Usually, TikTok takes down the video when it finds the content is violating its community guidelines. However, this is not always the case.

The TikTok app might be going through some technical issues. For instance, In the first week of March this year, thousands of TikTok users reported that their videos were disappearing after uploading. A lot of the users tweeted about this and tagged TikTok Support.

It takes a lot of time and effort to make a short video on TikTok. People panicked as they thought all their hard work got wasted as the videos they posted vanished. However, within some time TikTok fixed the glitch in the app and users could see their videos again.

Your video can also disappear if you have a bad internet connection while you’re uploading the video. You may not even be able to see your likes, shares, and other posts from the ‘For You’ page if you have low speed. Whenever you upload the video, make sure you have a strong internet connection.

Why Is My Tiktok Video Not Showing Up For Others

TikTok might not show your videos to others in case you got shadowbanned. It can also happen when your account is private, it will not show your videos to new users. Other reasons include your videos might be ‘under review’, you may be new to TikTok or simply because TikTok servers are down, it might not show your videos to others.

Therefore, always make sure you have a public account and follow all the community guidelines laid down by TikTok. In any case, if you’re new to TikTok, do not start posting immediately. Interact with other content, follow other people, and make sure you have an authentic profile picture and a bio.
